Under the slogan "With the rare every day, not just every leap year" this year's Rare Disease Day was marked under the patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and the City of Zagreb, in co-organization with the City Office for Social Protection, Health, War Veterans, and Persons with Disabilities.
ACTIVITIES:
- The media campaign “With the Rare Every Day, Not Just in a Leap Year” included social media posts featuring photos of medical professionals, patient organization leaders, and collaborators, with the aim of publicly recognizing their dedicated work and support for people living with rare diseases.
- A prize competition was organized for schools and kindergartens, in which students and kindergarten groups participated by creating collages on the topic of rare diseases. The works were published on social media, and a prize fund was provided for the top three places.
- The coloring book for our youngest members was sent to all members, and promotional gift packages were provided to all participants from across Croatia.
- We hosted a public gathering at the Pavilion on Zrinjevac, on February 29th, where we interacted with citizens, shared information, and handed out promotional materials. A quiz on rare diseases was also held, organized in collaboration with students from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb.
- By illuminating the city's symbol in purple, a large number of cities across Croatia joined us in marking International Rare Disease Day on February 29th, as a sign of support for those living with rare diseases.
- STAKEHOLDER TALK at Hotel Zonar, Zagreb, on February 29th – we brought together experts and institutional representatives for two panel discussions on the topics of the National Strategy for Rare Diseases and everyday care.
